Vienna’s English Theatre
Would you like to see a theatre play, but your German just does not suffice for the grand plays at Burgtheater?
Go and visit Vienna’s English Theatre.
Originally it was founded to entertain international tourists during the summer months, but soon it became a widely accepted national cultural institution, hosting a lot of international stars on stage such as Joan Fontaine, Anthony Quinn and Princess Grace of Monaco. The theatre, which opened its doors in 1963 has added French plays (Théâtre Français de Vienne) as well as Italian ones (Teatro Italiano di Vienna) over time.
To honor Tennessee William’s 100th anniversary the next play which will be performed is “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” starting on January 31st.
