#RespectDiversity: The Boutiquehotel Stadthalle Team support tolerance in our society
The Life Ball in Vienna took place in a great atmosphere last week, and the Song Contest in Vienna and the Rainbow Parade are soon to follow. May and June are THE months of the LGT Community this year. Accordingly, Amnesty International started a campaign called #RespectDiversity. Of course, the whole team of the Boutiquehotel Stadthalle supports this campaign and insists on an open and tolerant society throughout Austria, Europe and the whole world!
#RespectDiversity – an initiative of Amnesty International
With regards to the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Amnesty International started the campaign #RespectDiversity. The main aim of this campaign is to point out the problems that the LGT community faces day by day, not only in Austria but in all the participating countries of the Song Contest. In cooperation with Queeramnesty this initiative was startet. Queeramnesty is an organisation inside Amnesty Austria, which is specialized on the topics human rights, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Segregation based on sexual orientation is out of place these days!
Conchita Wurst’s victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen as well as the Life Ball, which takes place in Vienna annually, are two signs, that tolerance in Austria and also throughout Europe has increased substantially. However, homosexual human beings are still excluded from and discriminated in our society. This is the only explanation why recently the Gay- and Lesbian-House in Vienna was devastated by Graffiti Sprayers. Even though lots of initiatives open up our society towards more tolerance, there is still a long way to go in order to reduce the segregation of gays and lesbians. On Amnesty International’s Social Wall you can see how many people commit to the campaign #RespectDiversity. The team of the Boutiquehotel Stadthalle also wants contribute positively to such a development.
Boutiquehotel Stadthalle – the gay-friendly hotel in Vienna
We consider ourselves a gay-friendly hotel in Vienna and that is the reason why there was no doubt that we will support the Amnesty International’s #RespectDiversity campaign. Tolerance and openness are two pillars of our central hotel in Vienna. We are very happy, that the Life Ball, the Song Contest and the Rainbow Parade puts Vienna as a city into a tolerant and open light. We always aim to show these attributes inside our hotel as well. That is the reason why we also have some special tips for homosexual people who stay at our gay-friendly hotel in Vienna. We will continue following our ambition of contributing towards a more open and tolerant society.
