Madame Tussauds’ in Vienna
On April 1st you will be able to visit a new attraction in Vienna: Madame Tussauds’ will open its doors. Located in Prater – Vienna’s famous amusement park, it is the 11th location around the world that displays Madame Tussaud’s famous wax figures.
Madame Tussauds learnt to model wax likenesses in 1770 in Paris. In the early 19th century she traveled to Britain with her first wax exhibition about the French revolution. Due to its success, the first Madame Tussauds’ opened in London as a permanent exhibition and has since been one of the “must-sees” until today. Curiosity is the formula for its success and this is why Madame Tussauds’ role keeps on changing and developing. Today it also displays famous celebrities, politicians and athletes and it has become an interactive exhibition offering its visitors the possibility to get closer to the wax figures than before.
Vienna’s Madame Tussauds’ will offer you a trip through Austria’s imperial history, a visit at the Oval Office and a lock up in Nelson Mandela’s cell; an analysis by Sigmund Freud, sports competitions with various Austrian athletes such as Renate Götschl, a meet-and-greet with Falco, Austria’s most famous pop star and not to forget our international celebrities: Brangelina, Robbie Williams and the like.
So you see, there is something for everyone: international and Austrian VIPs that we are all happy to meet and pose with for yet another photo for our personal “wall of fame”:-)
