The 27th Film Festival is just around the corner! On overall 66 days from June, the 30th to September, the 3rd, numerous concert recordings and live acts will enchant you at the Townhall Square under the open sky. Europe’s biggest culture- and cuisine festival has attracted 550.000 visitors from all over the world last year and the best thing about it: The entrance is totally free once again! We will give you a short insight in what will possibly be offered this year!

Brilliant Technology
Every day at nightfall, among many others, recordings from operas, concerts and ballet performances of popular artists will be presented on an impressive 300 square metres large screen in full HD with a brilliant sound system under the stars. The classical genre is represented by top-class stars like Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo or Elīna Garanča, but also manifold conductors and orchestras will be shown in the open air cinema.
Forever 27
The detailed programme has not been set yet actually, but rumour has it that in celebration of the 27th anniversary of the festival, the focus shall be laid on the so-called “Forever 27 Club”. This includes world stars who have already died at the young age of 27, like Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin and who shall become present again in a cinematic homage at the Townhall Square.
Culinary Round Trip
In fact, seats are available but they usually are occupied very quickly, so it pays off to be at site early if you do not want to stand. Besides, from 11 o’ clock to 24 o’ clock, the most different culinary delicacies and refreshments from the good domestic cuisine to fancy dishes from all around the globe are freshly made for you. Additionally, completely in our spirit, reusable table wear has been employed since 1995 to avoid unnecessary garbage.
