Argus bike festival 2011
On the first weekend of April the biggest Austrian bike festival – the ARGUS BIKE FESTIVAL will take place in Vienna. On Rathausplatz you will find a bicycle exhibition. The exhibitors have got something interesting to show and to try out for everyone: professionals, beginners, children AND e-bikers :-).
There will be areas to try out the bikes, a unicycle show, as well as the International Dirt Contest Vienna Air King which had 100,000 visitors last year. The participants will show crazy tricks and battle for cash and prizes.
There will also be a fleemarket, for those you would like to buy a (cheap) bicycle and a raffle with lots of good prizes such as a 7-day holiday for 2 people in Zillertal, Lumix cameras and Merida bikes.
On Sunday there will be a bicycle parade along the ring road where you can win a prize if you have either of the following: the most beautifully decorated bike, the most unusual bike, the bike which carries most “passangers”, a child with most balloons on its bike, the bicycle that makes the best music or the bicycle that carries the best slogan.
The festival serves as the opening event into the bicycle season. It takes place from 9am to 6pm on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of April 2011 and the admission is free.
